make2 Nellore: District Collector B Sridhar said that the Indiramma Baata programme would be held in the district shortly and the officials concerned should take steps to organize it successfully. A On Monday, the Collector toured Somasila, Aadurupalli and Kollapanayudupalli in the district and inspected the progress relating to the various development works. Speaking on the occasion, the District Collector said Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy would be participating in the Indiramma Baata and lay the foundation stones and inaugurate several developmental programmes. He said that the works relating to the Somasila High Level Canal, which were taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 789 crore, should be completed without any hitch. He also enquired about the capacity of the Somasila reservoir. Sridhar directed the officials to make arrangements for the construction of a helipad so that the helicopter lands smoothly and should be sprayed with water so that dust does not arise. He also went to the Zilla Parishad High School grounds to oversee the arrangements for a public meeting that would be organized. The District Collector also visited the Aadurupalli village in Chejerla mandal to inspect the construction works of Gurukul School for the Scheduled Castes and also the integrated drinking water supply scheme. He also enquired from the people of Kollapanaidupalli about the difficulties that they were facing. He said that steps would be taken to supply them drinking water and also for the construction of temples. The Collector warned that stringent action would be taken against those who try to purchase or sell the lands belonging to the scheduled castes illegally. The Somasila Superintending Engineer Somasekhar, Nellore Revenue Divisional Officer Madhavilatha, Divisional Engineer S V Rao, executive engineer Nagamalu and others were present on the occasion.
