Canonize or canonise indicates that when somebody is officially declared as a saint (Mother Teresa to be canonised) by the Pope in the Vatican. Canonization or canonisation is an instance of canonizing or being canonozied. Henry VII broke the canons of the Church by divorcing his wife. Canon is also the name (trademark) of a camera manufacturer. If an action violates a basic canon of the church, he or she could face stern action from the Vatican. He is a canon at St George’s Church (a priestly figure).
