Auger is related to tools to bore holes in wood or ice, and others are used to unclog toilets. The old word or form of auger is nauger first used in the 12th century. The other hardware words are adze, awl, chock, ferrule, punch, and tang. While augering a hole in the ceiling of the first floor of his duplex flat, his mobile phone rang and he answered it. The auger with a long rotational head fell and got damaged, and also cracked the Italian tiles on the floor.
