Karimnagar: District higher authorities have sanctioned bio-toilets as an interim measure and submitted proposals to the State government to build permanent toilets at a cost of Rs 8 lakh for the benefit of employees working in Irrigation and other government departments at LMD Colony near here.

Responding to a report published in these columns dated February 4 highlighting the problem of over 300 female employees, they sanctioned bio-toilets as an interim measure besides sending proposals to build permanent toilets to the government.

The female staff members thanked The Hans India for reflecting their problems highlighting their travails.

Irrigation Department in-charge Chief Engineer Anil Kumar, on the basis of the report, ordered inspection of the facilities. Subsequently, an order for bio-toilets was placed.
