Farmer holds dharna against railway works

Nizamabad: A farmer, A Praveen sat on a dharna in front of the vehicle of a Railway contractor at Guganpalli in the city on Sunday protesting against Peddapalli-Nizamabad railway track works taken up on his agricultural land without taking his permission or giving prior information.

Speaking to the media, Praveen said that cement works were being taken up with the help of a Proclain and several lorries passed through on his field making it unfit for cultivation purposes.

He said that when he brought this to the notice of the Railway officials and the contractor, they remained indifferent. Even the police remained indifferent and did not render justice to him, he lamented.
