semi Rajahmundry: The Department of English, in collaboration with the Departments of Telugu, Hindi and Sanskrit, is organising a national seminar on 'World drama and the dramatic works of Sree Kandukuri Veeresalingam' on March 23 and 24.at Sri Kandukuri Veresalingam Theistic College here in East Godavari district. The focus of the seminar is to highlight the trends in drama across languages in different media and content. There will also be special focus on the dramatic works of Kandukuri Veeresalingam, the first dramatist in Telugu literature. Scholars belonging to different colleges in the State and from other States are expected to participate and discuss issues of dramatic art expressed through the media such as stage play, cinema, radio play, TV serial and digital media. According to SKVT College principal PGA Catharine, through this seminar the college will pay tribute to Kandukuri Veeresalingam, the first Telugu dramatist who used the medium of drama to propagate his ideals of truth, sincerity and a society free from evils such as superstitions. On submission of papers, she said the paper in English should be of A4 size and the text should be in the Times New Roman font with size 12. This should be emailed to [email protected]. Papers in Telugu and other languages should be in Priyanka font and others with line spacing of 1.5 and font size of 15 in A4 size paper. Abstract and full papers shall be submitted on or before March 19, 2013, by e-mail to the director or executive director at [email protected]. The registration fee is Rs 200 and spot registration will be held at 8.30 am at SKVT College. Y Panduranga is the director of the seminar and Dr PVB Sanjeeva Rao is the executive director of the seminar.
