KCR unveiled the first ever statue of the late Congress leader Konda Venkata Ranga Reddy in Ranga Reddy district and recalled that there was not a single statue of the leader though the district was named after him.

Chevella (Rangareddy): It was really heartening to unveil the statue of the first deputy chief minister of Hyderabad, Konda Venkata Ranga Reddy, K Chandrasekhar Rao, president of Telangana Rashtra Samiti said here on Sunday. He unveiled here the first ever statue of the late Congress leader Konda Venkata Ranga Reddy in Rangareddy district which was named after him.

The TRS chief recalled that there was not a single statue of the leader though the district was named after him. The grandson of Konda Venkata Ranga Reddy, Konda Visweswar Reddy joined the TRS party in the presence of the TRS chief. KCR said that Ranga Reddy was against the merger of Andhra with Hyderabad state and he fought against the merger tooth and nail. He said that Ranga Reddy statue would be installed before the Assembly after Telangana state was formed.

He lambasted the Andhra realtors who were propagating that the land prices in Telangana area would come down if Telangana state was formed. "In fact, there would be a boom of satellite towns in Rangareddy district," he said.

He said that the Pranahita-Chevella project would not be completed in near future and the contractors were making money in its name. "It was a conspiracy to divert Krishna river water to Rayalaseema," he said. He appealed to the people not to be carried away by the liquor and money distributed by the parties like Congress, TDP and YSR Congress. "If Telangana leaders were elected they would fight for Telangana state in Parliament," he said. He said that it was not true that there no movement for Telangana state in Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts.

Konda Visweswara Reddy said that he would strive for achieving Telangana State which was the dream of his grandfather. He said that he was confident that Telangana would be achieved under the leadership of KCR. Dr P Chandrasekhar said that once Telangana state was formed the ten lakh acres which were in the hands of Andhra capitalists would be taken back.

Desapati Srinivas said that Chevella Chellemma would soon become Cherasala Chellemma for the simple crime that she worked along with the Seemandhra leaders. K Kesava Rao, Nayini Narasimha Reddy, Eetela Rajendar, Harish Rao, Vivek, Vinod and other leaders were present.
