Dubai (PTI): The ICC on Wednesday dismissed reports that it was investigating alleged attempts by players to negate the effectiveness of the Hot Spot technology during the ongoing Ashes series between England and Australia.
An Australian television station alleged that ICC GM Cricket, Geoff Allardice was flying from Dubai here to Durham, the venue of the fourth Ashes Test, to investigate the matter. The DRS is in the news in the ongoing Ashes for all wrong reasons after concerns were raised following England batsman Kevin Pietersen's dismissal in the final innings of the third Test.
We’ll accept DRS if its foolproof: Dalmiya
Despite the flaws in the Decision Review System that have been revealed during an Ashes series full of umpiring controversies, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has continued to back the system vociferously. "We will accept DRS when technology is foolproof. There's nothing in between. Full stop," Dalmiya said. "Let them come up with a system which is 100 per cent correct. They couldn't fix the Duckworth-Lewis problem in 15 years, what guarantee do we have about an error-free DRS?
