It enjoyed a lion’s share in the team composition with players like Tiger Pataudi, ML Jaisimha, Syed Abid Ali, P Krishnamurthy and K Jayantilal figuring in the playing eleven with D Govindraj waiting in the wings.

After decades where a player here or there was in the Test squads, today we have some young beacons from Hyderabad who find themselves catapulted to the top and a step short of the ultimate glory in a cricket’s life.

pacer Mohammed Siraj is set for international baptism having earned his maiden international call-up on Monday. B Sandeep, Tanmay Agarwal, Akash Bhandari, CV Milind and Ravi Kiran have been included in the Naman Ojha-led 13-member Board Presidnet’s XI squad. Quite expectedly, office-bearers at Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) can afford a smile or two.
