Hyderabad: Telangana State’s doubles combination of Malishka Kuramu and Aarni Reddy Yellu finished with an enviable runner-up finish in the Under-14 AITA Super Series Girls Doubles Championship, under the aegis of All Assam Tennis Association, which concluded in Guwahati on Friday.
It has been a rewarding fortnight for Malishka, who last week had annexed the U-12 AITA Super Series Doubles Championship.
This week, in the company of Aarni Reddy, the two, who were seeded two, fell to the top seeds Pari Singh from Maharashtra and West Bengal’s Shweta Samantha (WB) in the title clash.
Earlier, in the quarterfinals, they prevailed over Chandini Srinivasan (TS) and Pari Chavan 4-0, 4-0 while they ended the surprise run of unseeded Jennika Jaison (MH) and Aditi Bhatt (KAR) 5-3, 5-4 (7) in the semifinals.
