Siddipet Heroes lift TCA-Freedom Cup 2018
A lively 530 spell by man of the match Imran Abrar was the cornerstone of the narrow fourwin win posted by Siddipet Heroes over Medak Masters in the finals of the 16over tournament, conducted by The Telangana Cricket Association and supported by Hotel Akshaya Grand, for the TCAFreedom Cup2018 at Siri Sports Convention in Chanda Village late Tuesday evening
​Adilabad: A lively 5/30 spell by man of the match Imran Abrar was the cornerstone of the narrow four-win win posted by Siddipet Heroes over Medak Masters in the finals of the 16-over tournament, conducted by The Telangana Cricket Association and supported by Hotel Akshaya Grand, for the TCA-Freedom Cup-2018 at Siri Sports Convention in Chanda Village late Tuesday evening.
Put into bat by Medak Masters, the Heroes posted a modest total of 137 runs for the loss of five wickets on the board, thanks to aggressive knocks by Nishant Kantawale (41) and M Madhu 39 while Avinash scalped two wickets conceding 17 runs.
However, although the target was not much, the Masters batsmen found the chase tough owing to tidy spells by Imran Abrar and D Mani Shankar Raju (3/17). Had it not been for rock-solid contributions from Hari (38) and Harish (34), Medak Masters could have ended up with a more disastrous loss.
Earlier, in their respective semifinal clashes, Siddipet Heroes put it across Kakatiya Kings and Medak Masters prevailed over Indur Icons with comprehensive wins.
Later, TCA Secretary D Guruva Reddy and TCA Adilabad in-charge G Vivekananda Reddy jointly gave away the prizes at a largely attended function.
Narotham Reddy (TCA Adilabad Secretary), Gopi (Adilabad EC member) and Ch Narender Reddy (TCA Siddipet in-charge) graced the occasion along with coaches, officials and members of the Organising Committee.
Individual award winners: M Mahender Reddy (Siddipet Heroes), V Srinivas Reddy (Medak Master), M Madhu (Siddipet Heroes), D Mani Shankar Raju (Siddipet Heroes), Aravind (Medak Masters).
