Naxalite Threat: DGPs Meeting in Delhi Today. A meeting of Chief Secretaries and DGPs of 10 Naxalite-affected states will be held on Friday at New Delhi.

Hyderabad: A meeting of Chief Secretaries and DGPs of 10 Naxalite-affected states will be held on Friday at New Delhi.

The meeting has been convened by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to review the situation in the country and operational performance of security forces in 2014 to confront the Naxalites.

Naxalite Threat: DGPs Meeting in Delhi Today

The subject of coordination between Central and State forces fighting Naxals, installation of telecom towers to improve connectivity in these areas and infrastructure in Naxalit-hit regions will also be discussed.

Senior officials from Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Odisha and Telangana have been asked to attend the meeting by the home ministry.

Accordingly, the DGP of Andhra Pradesh J V Ramudu has left for Delhi while the Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma would reach Delhi on Friday morning.

CRPF DG will give details on the operations held by security forces in 2014 and the success achieved. Odisha DGP would be giving the presentation on centre-state coordination in fighting Maoists.
