They are securing details from tahsildars as records are not available at the Collectorate. Dayanand, DRO, said the details would likely be made available within two or three days.

The officials’ action follows Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s orders to the ten districts in the region to secure details of the Bhoodan lands. Such lands are said to be under the control of private persons in Patancheru and Jinnaram. In some areas they have been allotted to landless dalits. In some places commercial complexes have been constructed.

These lands are said to have been donated by 249 persons from various villages in the district during the Bhoodan movement taken up by freedom fighter and social reformer Vinoba Bhave. Among them, 92 persons from Sangareddy have donated 530.20 acres, 29 from Gajwel 823.06 acres, 40 from Andole 369.18 acres, seven from Medak 454.10 acres, 14 from Narsapur 282.34 acres, 30 from Zaheerabad 1,112.17 acres (a part of this land is now lying in Karanataka), 37 from Siddipet 777.10 acres.

There are about 1,300 acres of such lands in Sangareddy alone, it is learnt.

In Muthangi, Isnapur and Jinnaram mandals of Patancheru constituency Bhoodan lands account for about 100 acres, it is learnt. In the Sultanpur area, 350 non-locals and 150 villagers are stated to have been given house-sites in 16.7 acres under survey No 467. The Construction of houses has been reportedly stopped after residents agitated demanding sites should be allotted to only locals.

At Annaram, in Jinnaram mandal, Bhoodan lands have been assigned to private persons, while in about 2.5 acres allotted to freedom fighter A Sadanandam ‘Gandhi Gram’ is being organised. In Zaheerabad some persons in the name of Satyaharis Chandra Trust have sought 38 acres of Bhoodan land near Allana Industry. This is pending with the government.
