Intensive Household Survey 2014: Muslims Urged to Take Part

Abid Rasool Khan, APSMC chairman said that they have urged the collectors to hold awareness programmes from August 10 to August 18. This survey will be significant for all minorities as it will help them avail various benefits and reservations in education and other fields. He urged the members of these communities to actively participate in the survey.

Also, the commission has written to the chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, urging him to set the wheels in motion for setting up a Muslim university on the lines of Aligarh Muslim University in the state. There is a chance that the university can be located on the land endowed to Dargah Hazrat Maqdoom Biyabani in Ranga Reddy district, the APSMC suggested. According to the officials, around 1,264 acres are endowed to the Dargah.
