This decision was taken here on Friday when the BJP national president Amit Shah called on the TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu at his residence. The two leaders are learnt to have discussed about the measures that need to be taken for better coordination between them so that they can together take on TRS.

The two leaders also decided to extend cooperation to each other and have seat sharing during the GHMC elections slated for November. It may be mentioned here that the TRS and MIM have forged a sort of understanding and decided to have electoral adjustment in the GHMC elections. The Telangana State BJP president G Kishan Reddy, Telangana TDP leaders including L Ramana and E Dayakar Rao were also present and agreed to the proposed seat sharing arrangement. Though the two parties had electoral understanding in the general elections, Kishan Reddy was not happy with it and had opposed the decision. In view of this, Reddy was also made part of the decision-making process. Meanwhile, Dayakar Rao told newsmen after the meeting that TDP would extend all support to the BJP in the election and that leaders of both the parties would meet in next few days to finalise the name of the candidate. In all probability, the TDP would support a BJP candidate, the source said.
