Hyderabad: The Telangana State government will be outlining all its welfare schemes to 14th Finance Commission delegation on September 19 to ensure the newly-formed State gets maximum funds from Centre. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has also decided to host lunch for the panel at the iconic Falaknuma Palace on Friday.

KCR held a preparatory meeting with senior officials of various departments in this regard on Wednesday. He directed the authorities to explain in detail to Finance Commission members about various welfare schemes and people-centric decisions taken by the State government such as Drinking Water Grid, Haritha Haaram, Restoration of Tanks, Safe and Smart City tag for Hyderabad, welfare schemes for Dalits and STs.

They were also asked to brief about benefits of the Intensive Household Survey and My Village-My Plan initiatives. The Finance Commission should be given an insight into Telangana Drinking Water Grid project (estimated at Rs 25, 000 crore) that aims to provide safe drinking water to urban and rural parts of the state, KCR said. Finance Minister Etela Rajender, Government Advisor Papa Rao, PS to CM S Narsing Rao and heads of various departments took part.
