Hyderabad: Samsung Data Systems has come forward to give technical expertise to Telangana State government in its vision to make Hyderabad into a smart city. It proposed a single card for citizens to use different modes of public transportation like city buses, railways and the upcoming metro rail without any hassles.

A high-level delegation led by Dongsun Choi, general manager and Young IL Kim, project director met the Chief Minister at Secretariat on Wednesday. They made a presentation on Central Clearing Housing Systems (CCHS) with specific reference to Hyderabad city. They informed him about unique card with onetime payment method being used for public transportation in various countries, such as Oyster card in UK, Octopus card in Hong Kong, Suica card in Japan.

They further appraised the Chief Minister about intelligent manufacturing, intelligent logistics, intelligent office, intelligent home, intelligent surveillance and smart education as part of smart city system.

According to the Korean delegation, the concept and idea of smart cities could be better managed by linking services of different modes of public transportation.

Meanwhile, KCR suggested the delegation to hold discussions with the Police Department as well. He also mooted the idea of conducting a workshop shortly involving different stakeholders to take this further.

Principal Secretary to the CM, S Narsing Rao, Additional Secretary Smita Sabharwal and Special Secretary to CM Bhupal Reddy were also present.
