Hyderabad: Faced with the possibility of large scale exodus of leaders including Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Theegala Krishna Reddy and Errabelli Dayakar Rao, the party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday took up damage control exercise and made an attempt to instil confidence among the rank and file.

Naidu asked his party leaders to undertake “Bus Yatra” from October 10 across the State to expose the “failures of the TRS government and non-fulfilment of poll promises made by it”. Interestingly, Yadav, who left the venue of Alai Balai before Naidu went there on Sunday, attended the meeting convened by the party president in his chambers in AP State Secretariat.

But this by no means is an indication that he would not desert the cycle and board the car. When asked, Yadav said he had not made up his mind on whether or not to join TRS. However, indications are that he would join the pink party on 11th or 12th, when the TRS plenary session would be held here.

Meanwhile, T TDP leaders have decided to launch “Bus Yatra” from October 10 from Nalgonda. During the first phase of their tour, the leaders would cover Warangal district on 11 and proceed to Adilabad on 12.

They would address public meetings in the villages and mandal headquarters. The main objective of the Yatra is to expose KCR’s failure in addressing the people's issues and explain people the TDP’s commitment towards welfare and development of Telangana State, Dayakar Rao said.

The top brass of the party also discussed the ways to strengthen the party in the new State. The party, which has already lost few MLAs, MLCs and senior party leaders to the pink party, is worried about its party base becoming weak in the TS.

Soon after the meeting, Dayakar Rao, who had earlier criticised his colleague A Revanth Reddy on the issue of Metro Rail project, has now joined hands with him to revive the party in Telangana. Speaking to reporters, along with Revanth Reddy, Errabelli said, “KCR is trying to distract the people's attention from his failures by blaming AP CM Naidu. He has promised to give eight-hour uninterrupted power supply to agriculture. But, his government is not even able to supply three hours power. He did nothing in his three months rule except self-boasting.” This is being seen as an indication that Dayakar Rao had dropped the decision to quit the party at least for the time-being.
