The BJP has chosen a noted social activist Errabelli Ram Mohan Rao of the town as its nominee for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda graduate constituency of the Legislative Council.

Warangal: The BJP has chosen a noted social activist Errabelli Ram Mohan Rao of the town as its nominee for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda graduate constituency of the Legislative Council. Rao is an engineer, philanthropist, political activist and businessman. He studied engineering at BITS, Pilani and graduated from NIT, Warangal. He started career as an engineer in R & B department and quit to become an entrepreneur.
A general secretary of ABVP, he was jailed for six months in 1977 for protesting against Emergency. He launched a voluntary organization, Rural Development Foundation, in 1994.
His philanthropic activities include founding five non-profit primary schools and a degree college in Telangana and AP, an orphanage and world class archery training institute at Kalleda, whose graduates represented India in the Beijing Olympics. “If elected I will strive to address the problems in the field of education and develop the constituency” he said.
