Telangana State Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy has stressed the need for the police to adopt a more public-friendly attitude which will help reinforce people\'s faith.

He was speaking after reviewing the passing-out parade of the Stipendiary Cadet Trainee Women Police Constable (SCTWPC) at Raja Bahadur Venkata Rama Reddy Andhra Pradesh Police Academy (RBVRR APPA) on Friday. The police force was obliged to maintain credibility in terms of their duties and responsibilities, he said.

The Minister said it was the duty of the police to safeguard the rights of the downtrodden. As many as 486 cadets underwent a nine-month training which included physical training, squad drill, arms drill, weapon training, first-aid and fire fighting, field craft and tactics.

Nagajyothi, a native of Nalgonda district, was adjudged the best all-rounder cadet and K Manjula from Ranga Reddy the 'best indoor' cadet.Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Sharma was also present on the occasion.
