Conditions in Tandur SC hostel deplorable
Deplorable conditions are prevailing in the SC Hostel, with 59 students, located on the Hyderabad Road, with hostel welfare officer Govind allegedly handing over the management to an intermediate student Veerender. He has been coming for duty only once a month.

As a result, the staff is not only selling LPG in black, but also neglecting the upkeep of the hostel. The physically challenged cook has been replaced by a woman, who is said to be getting Rs.3,000. Students allege that the cosmetic bills have not been paid for the last six months.
The bathrooms/lavatories are in poor condition, forcing the inmates to answer the call of nature in the open outside the hostel. Students accused Veerender of resorting to threats when questioned about the poor hostel management, besides irregular supply of eggs, fruits and snacks. When the media representatives visited the hostel on Monday, upon receiving information from several people’s organisations, there were only 21 inmates. When contacted on telephone Govind tried to plead with the media not to publish the news, with a promise to reach an understanding.
