V Suresh, Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer, Naukri.com said, “Hyderabad witnessed an increase in hiring activity in November. Key sectors such as IT, ITES and pharma have registered good growth. Businesses are optimistic and we expect the trend to continue.”

Telecom emerged as a strong sector, registering a growth of 43 per cent from November 2013. Banking, pharma and insurance also saw their hiring go up by 34 per cent, 25 per cent and 20 per cent respectively in the month of November compared to the previous year. Among the leading sectors in the city, only construction and engineering saw a marginal dip of one per cent each over the year.

The demand for IT professionals saw an increase of 13 percent. Sectors like accounts and HR also continued to hire at a good pace and showed a 29 percent and 33 percent rise respectively over the year. However, hiring of production and maintenance professionals saw a southward trend with the index moving down by eight per cent.
