Uma Bharti likely to inaugurate Mission Kakatiya
The Union Minister for Water Resources, Uma Bharti, is likely to inaugurate Mission Kakatiya, another flagship program of the Telangana government in January. It may be recalled that the Telangana Chief Minister during his meeting with her on Monday briefed her about the Mission Kakatiya and told her how his government was determined to revive the chain tank system that once existed in Telangana state during the period of Nizam.

He told her that this programme was aimed at bringing back the lost glory to the villages in the new State. He invited her to inaugurate it. According to Minister for Irrigation T Harish Rao, the programme will be launched in January and will be taken up till May in the first phase. For effective implementation of the programme, he said that they had appointed the SEs and AEs in all the districts and other field staff.
Stating that they would ensure cent per cent transparency in the execution of works by calling tenders through e-procurement, the Minister said that they would also accord top priority to the quality. A Chief Engineer (Quality Control) would be appointed at the State-level.
