Release of Telanganites languishing in jails also on agenda

Hyderabad: Telangana Minister for Information Technology and Panchayat Raj K Taraka Rama Rao left for Dubai late on Saturday for a three-day tour. KTR will be meeting industrialists and invite them to make investments in the new State of Telangana. The Minister will also make all out efforts to release and repatriate several Telanganites as also other Indians, languishing in jails of United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The State government has already informed the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Indian Consulate and Indian Embassy, Dubai, that the government of Telangana would like to interact with the industry members in Dubai on Sunday in collaboration with the FICCI.

The tour programme of KTR includes a Telangana Investment Road Show and Investors Round Table in Dubai. Senior officials accompanying the Minister include K Pradeep Chandra, Special Chief Secretary to the government, Industry & Commerce Department and Jayesh Ranjan, Commissioner of Industries and Vice-Chairman and MD, TSIIC (Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation).

KTR’s schedule on Sunday will start with his meeting of TECOM CEO and other officials of the company. Afterwards, FICCI and Dubai-based Indian Business & Professional Council (IBPC) will jointly organise a programme titled 'Invest in Telangana: Showcasing Investment Opportunities in Potential Sectors'. Paras Shahdadpuri, president of IBPC, will welcome the guests and KTR will deliver the keynote address after Telangana State government officials make a presentation. A special address will be made by T P Seetharam, Indian Ambassador to UAE.

KTR and his entourage will then leave for DUbiotech where the Minister will meet industrialists of various sectors including pharma and IT. KTR is likely to interact with media at this venue. The Minister and the officials are likely to devote their entire time on Monday to visit Telanganites facing difficulties in that country and see that those desirous of returning to India are freed and repatriated by the UAE government.
