Hyderabad: Good news for the poor in Telangana. The streak of promises is still continued by the Chief Minister even after 6 months of coming to power.

According to sources, The Telangana state government has recently decided to regularize all the illegally occupied government lands in Hyderabad and other parts of the state. All these lands will be legalized by the government with the recent decision.

Under this scheme, the procedure will be done free of cost for the poor, while others will be charged. It also decided to take over all open government plots and lands in city and state and sell them, wherever needed, through public auction in a bid to check encroachments.

Thousands of people, especially the poor living in pucca, semi-pucca huts and other constructions on government lands the state will benefit from the long pending regularization scheme.

Only those in possession of plots or land before June 2, 2014, are eligible for the regularisation scheme. A government order with guidelines will be issued. Mr Rao has also asked officials to submit a report on the removal of encroachments on nalas in Hyderabad and other places.
