Adilabad: Karimnagar in-charge DIG B Malla Reddy said on Monday that Maoist activities were under control in the district. He spoke to the media at the district police office here on Monday.

To a question, the DIG said that a person, who was brought to the I-Town Police Station on the charges of committing theft, had attempted suicide by consuming phenyl in the bathroom.

Malla Reddy said that he was immediately shifted to the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad and his health condition was normal. The DIG said that the accused has involved in several thefts. He stated that an enquiry has been ordered into the incident. “Police would face departmental action if they are found guilty,” he said.
