In a bid enhance the quality of education in State, the Telangana State government has decided to place information of all government and private colleges on a government website. Authentic information and error-free details of colleges, which included infrastructure, faculty, results and placements, would be uploaded to the government website

Hyderabad: In a bid enhance the quality of education in State, the Telangana State government has decided to place information of all government and private colleges on a government website. Authentic information and error-free details of colleges, which included infrastructure, faculty, results and placements, would be uploaded to the government website. For an instance if a student wants to select a best college, he/she can browse the website for information.

With this, students can selected a one or the other best college to without depending on the propaganda being made by the managements of the colleges. Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari told reporters after holding a review meeting with his department officials at Secretariat here on Tuesday that details of government, private degree and PG colleges, government and private professional colleges would be placed on the website by end of May.

The government also decided to release the academic schedule at the time of admission stage itself. The schedule would contain all details like date of examination of Common Entrance Tests (CETs), results, theory exams, etc. “During the time of admission in June, students will have clear idea about when class X exams, Intermediate examinations, CETs will held,” the Deputy Chief Minister said.

On the Central scheme funds, Srihari said he had instructed the officials to follow guidelines put forwarded by Central government and tap maximum resources. He also instructed the heads of departments to conduct inspection of their respective departments at least for a week in a month. Officials were told to submit their tour schedules to Principal Secretary of Higher Education.

The Deputy Chief Minister said a review meeting would be held once in three months to take stock of the situation. “I asked them to set a target for themselves and devise a plan to evaluate their performance,” Srihari said. The Education Minister instructed officials to identify vacancies in their respective departments, including Universities and submit proposals to government.

“Infrastructure and faculty gap will be verified. Upon consultations with Chief Minister a decision whether to promote, depute or to for fresh recruitment will be decided,” he said. He stressed the need for the officials to adhere to government rules and services while making decisions. He made it clear that decisions should not get into legal tangles and officials should ensure that there was no room for corruption in their respective departments.
