The Finance Minister along with MLAs and ZPTCs garlanded the 'Amaraveerula Stupam' at Chowrastha Circle and paid rich tributes to Telangana martyrs.The people’s representatives and officials had lunch at Revenue Gardens along with the families of the martyrs.

Speaking on the occasion, the Finance Minister said, "It is Karimnagar which provided inspiration for TRS president K Chandrashekar Rao to start 'Amarana deekasha' (indefinite fast) for a separate State of Telangana. KCR used to say that even after 150 martyrs sacrificed their lives in the district not even a single mother has scolded him. He will never forget the sacrifices of those families."

Eatala distributed Rs 10 lakh each to 137 families of martyrs on Monday. He said soon ex gratia will be paid to families of other martyrs. He said that Bangaru Telangana can only be achieved only when there are no hunger deaths or suicides in the State.

Government Chief Whip Koppula Eshwar said, "We did not see anywhere in the world like the movement of Telangana, sacrificing valuable lives for separate State. The Telangana movement will remain in the history forever."

ZP Chairperson Tula Uma, Parliamentary Secretary Odethala Sathish Kumar, MLC Sudhakar Reddy, MLAs Gangula Kamalakar, Dasari Manohar Reddy, K Vidyasagar Rao, Putta Madhu, Bodega Shoba, Rasamai Bala Kishan, District Collector Neethu Kumari Prasad, Joint Collector Pasaumi Basu, ZPTCs, MPTCs and others were present.
