Hyderabad: Even after a month of assuming office, the roles of the two top functionaries of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) - president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and working president Bhatti Vikramarka – are yet to be defined by the party.

According to party insiders, the two leaders, Uttam Kumar Reddy and Bhatti Vikramarka are still not able to come up with an action plan to take on the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS). Sources said that the All India Congress Committee (AICC) had not given a clear-cut work schedule to the TPCC president and the working president. The rank and file is still not clear as to who is sharing what responsibilities.

There are speculations among the second rung leaders that all is not well between the two leaders. It is being said that the new team of TPCC is now depending more on senior leaders like D Srinivas and K Jana Reddy for guidance with regard to various issues. The new committee is yet to chalk out a concrete action plan so that the party can regain its lost ground.

There has not been any kind of serious interaction between the party leadership and the grass-root level workers in the districts.Sources said that it would take at least another two months before it could get into action. A lot would depend on the report the committee headed by D Srinivas would present to the party.

Meanwhile, there are speculations that differences over sharing of work between the president and the working president had cropped up. Uttam Kumar said there was no truth in the rumours that were making rounds about differences between him and Bhatti Vikramarka.

However, when contacted by The Hans India, both have denied it. At the same time, the two leaders who are now in New Delhi are likely to meet the leaders of the High Command and discuss the issue and seek their guidance.

2,000 from TS take part in Delhi Congress rally

Hyderabad Telangana Congress mobilised workers and farmers for Congress farmers’ rally held at Delhi. According to party sources, more than 2,000 party workers participated in the rally. The Congress High Command had given priority to the TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, as he was the only speaker from the State to address the rally.

This indicates the Congress High Command’s preference for TPCC chief over the other senior leaders and party contenders. “The change of guard in the State party appears to have contributed to the enthusiastic participation from the new state of Telangana in the farmers rally,” said the party sources.
