Nalgonda: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is likely to visit Jadala Ramalingeshwara Swamy temple at Cheruvugattu in the district in the first week of May. According to sources, the Chief Minister is keen on developing the temple, which is the fourth largest temple in the Telangana State in terms of revenue and devotees inflow.

Impressed by the detailed explanation given by the Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy and Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresham about the importance of the pilgrim place, the Chief Minister has shown interest to visit the temple and take steps for its development. KCR reportedly assured them a visit to the temple after the party plenary concludes.

Meanwhile, the leaders have also requested the Chief Minister for construction of Choultries on the temple premises to create additional revenue and also to provide accommodation to the devotees. The construction of the road around hill shrine and second ghat road were among the proposals made by them.

The Cheruvugattu temple has 60 acres of land in the area and earning nearly Rs 70 lakh revenue every year. On the day of Amavasya, nearly one lakh devotees will throng the temple. In addition to this, about 36 auspicious days would be celebrated in the year, which will attract large number of devotees across the State.
