Hyderabad: Thousands of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) delegates attending the party plenary on Friday will be served sumptuous Telangana delicacies. Special arrangements are being made at Nizam College Ground for this purpose.A private catering company from Nallakunta has been entrusted with the job of preparing food. The menu consists of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian items in Telangana cooking style.

With reports of bird flu scare gone, the TRS has reportedly included chicken and eggs in the food menu, following a request from the poultry industry, as non-inclusion might send a wrong message. However, Hyderabad biryani will not be served this time. TRS president K Chandrashekar Rao was of the view that delegates would be feeling thirsty in the post-lunch session after eating the oil-rich biryani.

Hence, he gave instructions to prepare white rice and bagara rice (a noted Telangana recipe that uses relatively less oil compared to biryani). According to organisers, 10,000 kgs each of chicken and mutton as well as 80,000 eggs will be utilised in food preparation. Siri paya, boti curry, dum-ka-chicken, pachi pulusu, bhadusha (sweet) etc will be served. Separate food arrangements are being made for ministers, legislators, VIPs and women.
