Officials asked to reduce mother, child mortality rates

In a visit to Burgampadu Primary Health Centre, the District Programming Management Officer of National Rural Health Organisation (NRHO) Kalavathi Bai urged the health officials to make efforts for reducing the mortality rate of mother and child here in Khammam district.
Khammam: In a visit to Burgampadu Primary Health Centre, the District Programming Management Officer of National Rural Health Organisation (NRHO) Kalavathi Bai urged the health officials to make efforts for reducing the mortality rate of mother and child here in Khammam district.
Speaking to Asha Workers in a review meeting on Wednesday, she urged them to educate the pregnant women to deliver babies in government hospitals. She informed that the women who deliver the babies in the government hospitals would be given Rs 1,000 under 'Janani Suki Yojana' (JSY).
And, if the woman delivers the baby normally in government hospitals, under 'Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram' free meals would be provided to her and also to the other member who accompany her. The PO of NRHM Neelohana, Medical officer Dr Sridevi, Dr Vinod, Health Supervisors Anantharamulu, Padma and ANM's and Asha Workers took part in the meeting.
