New Delhi: Two Telugu Desam Party MPs from Telangana, Garikipati Mohan Rao and C Malla Reddy, complained to the Chief Election Commissioner, Nasim Zaidi, here on Monday against the admission of their MLAs into Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS). Speaking to the media, they said they had explained the political developments in Telangana to the CEC and pleaded his intervention.

The TRS was luring MLAs from the TDP in particular, despite having a full majority with 63 members in the Assembly, they alleged.Five of the TDP MLAs had earlier defected to the TRS while one among them, M Krishna Rao, followed suit recently, they said. Defending the arrested MLA, Revanth Reddy, they said he was deliberately trapped by the TRS government to ridicule the TDP.

The TRS should have contested only three seats in the elections to the Council but had fielded five. They said the CEC gave them a patient hearing and sought further details about the horse trading going on in Telangana.
