Hyderabad: The Special Court for Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Cases at Nampally, on Monday, adjourned the hearing on the bail petition of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA A Revanth Reddy to June 10.

While the ACB is planning to file a petition asking for an extension of Revanth Reddy's custody in the ‘cash-for-vote’ scam, the counsels for Revanth Reddy informed the court that their client was being tortured mentally by the ACB officials and was not provided basic facilities. They said SIT officials did not provide him food, drinking water and bed on June 7 and 8. The ACB asserted there was no iota of truth in the allegation.

“He was being provided with all amenities as per the protocol. The ‘SIT’ is a well-equipped office with all basic amenities,” the officials said added that the principal accused Revanth Reddy and the other two accused had been provided with mineral water and hygienic food prepared in the ACB canteen. They had also been given tea, snacks, new cots, mattresses, bed sheets, towels, napkins and so on, they said.

Meanwhile, the Special Court for ACB Cases on Monday expressed regret over ACB officials failing to file counter to bail petition of Revanth Reddy. The ACB had to file counter on Monday. When it sought more time, the judge expressed unhappiness and posted the case to Wednesday. The judge asked the investigating agency to file the counter.

However, the ACB continued questioning Revanth Reddy and his two accomplices in the scam. The sleuths quizzed the trio at its headquarters for the third consecutive day. They were first taken to the Osmania General Hospital for a medical check-up. The ACB is questioning them to find out the source of Rs 50 lakh and also from where they planned to bring another Rs 4.5 crore under the Rs 5 crore deal.

They were also being questioned about the complicity of other political leaders. The interrogation on the third day assumed significance in the wake of release of an audio tape - a purported telephonic conversation between Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and nominated MLA Stephenson. The audio tape was aired on Sunday night on T News, a channel owned by the TRS.
