At a conference of district Collectors and officials at MCRHRD here on Sunday, the Chief Minister said, from now he would embark on district tours only by road and preferably by bus. During his first-year in office, Rao heli-hopped even to nearby places like Yadaadri on various occasions.

However, he has now decided to change his mode of travel. Security officials in the Chief Minister’s Office said there was an advisory from the aviation authorities against air travel during the monsoon season.

During Dindi project foundation stone programme held recently, Rao wished to travel by helicopter to Nalgonda district, but the schedule was changed due to continuous downpour on that day. Rao had extensively toured Telangana districts by helicopter during campaign for 2014 elections. Because of it, he addressed a record number of meetings in a week.
