TS govt directed to consider case of specified BC students
Justice AV Sesha Sai on Monday directed the Telangana state to consider the candidature of various students belonging to specified Backward classes for admission for the ensuing academic year The judge made the interim order in a batch of petitions by parents of students in deleting 26 castes from the list of BCs by the government through GO 3 and 16.
Justice AV Sesha Sai on Monday directed the Telangana state to consider the candidature of various students belonging to specified Backward classes for admission for the ensuing academic year The judge made the interim order in a batch of petitions by parents of students in deleting 26 castes from the list of BCs by the government through GO 3 and 16.
The petitioners claimed that the state government has unilaterally taken decision for deletion of 26 castes including Kalinga, Toorpu Kapu, Gavara, and Setti Balija and other castes from the list of BCs, without the recommendation from the BC Commission. They said that the BC Commission did not exist in the state since 2011.
While granting the interim order, the judge directed the authorities not to insists students for certificates of their new Caste status as per the GOs and at the same time the judge told the parents of the students they cannot claim equity based on the interim orders during the final hearing of the petitions.
