The petitioners claimed that the state government has unilaterally taken decision for deletion of 26 castes including Kalinga, Toorpu Kapu, Gavara, and Setti Balija and other castes from the list of BCs, without the recommendation from the BC Commission. They said that the BC Commission did not exist in the state since 2011.


While granting the interim order, the judge directed the authorities not to insists students for certificates of their new Caste status as per the GOs and at the same time the judge told the parents of the students they cannot claim equity based on the interim orders during the final hearing of the petitions.
