Hyderabad: Demanding Pattas for the eligible poor and implementation of GO 58, the Communist Party of India, Telangana unit, on Friday stormed the Rangareddy District Collectorate. Speaking to media persons, CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy said the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had promised to build houses and give pattas for the poor.

He did not even initiate the process . Recently, KCR gave away the public land to 17 private companies but failed to deliver on his election promise of distributing land to the poor, he said. He demand that the state government implement the GO 58 and provide pattas of the eligible poor living in huts on government lands and construct two-bedroom houses for the homeless.

The CPI also demanded that the government clear the pending bills of Indiramma Housing Scheme and allocate houses to SCs and STs and economically backward under Rajiv Gruha Kalpa. This was just a beginning, the party would further intensify the protest until the pattas were distributed to every eligible poor.

The CPI would stage protests in front of the Collectorates across the State on July 3 and 4, he said. Several leaders including, CPI floor leader P J Chandrasekhar, Rangareddy district secretary S Bala Mallesh, Greater Hyderabad North Zone secretary Dr Sudhakar and many others participated in the protest.
