KCR condoles Ramakrishna’s demise. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao Thursday expressed shock at the demise of noted Telugu playback singer Vissamraju Ramakrishna at his Venkatagiri residence in Jubilee Hills.

K Chandrasekhar RaoHyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao Thursday expressed shock at the demise of noted Telugu playback singer Vissamraju Ramakrishna at his Venkatagiri residence in Jubilee Hills. In a press release here on Thursday, the Chief Minister noted that Ramakrishna was well known for cinema and devotional songs.

Ramakrishna, who sung 5,000 songs in various languages in 200 movies got accolades from many States, including Telangana and Telangana revolutionary songs, he said. KCR expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.

Born to Vissamraju Rangasai and Rathnam at Vizianagaram on August 20, 1947, Ramakrishna fine-tuned his classical music with master Nedunuri Krishna Murthy. Noted playback singer P Susheela is his maternal aunt. Ramakrishna lent his voice for the films of NTR, ANR, Krishnam Raju and Shobhan Babu and others.

Telugu cinema field expressed deep shock at the death of Ramakrishna, who had been suffering from cancer for some time. Ramakrishna’s son Sai Kiran entered the Tollywood with “Nuvve Kavali” produced on the banner of Ushakiran Movies. Cinema bigwigs felt that the void caused due to Ramakrishna’s demise cannot be filled. They conveyed sympathies to the bereaved family members.
