Hyderabad Range Deputy Inspector General Y Gangadhar has been awarded the President’s medal. Gangadhar, who is a postgraduate in Economics, joined the police in 1987 as a Deputy Superintendent of Police. He served as DSP in Kandukur in Prakasham district, DSP Godavaraikhani, Grey Hounds DSP, Saroornagar DSP and Malakpet ACP.

Gangadhar, who is a postgraduate in Economics, joined the police in 1987 as a Deputy Superintendent of Police. He served as DSP in Kandukur in Prakasham district, DSP Godavaraikhani, Grey Hounds DSP, Saroornagar DSP and Malakpet ACP.

On deputation, he was posted as additional Superintendent of Police Grey Hounds between 1995 and 97. Later he served as additional DCP (Traffic) in Hyderabad, worked in United Nations Peace Keeping Mission in Bosnia Herzegovina as a representative from India (1998 - 1999), in United Nations Peace Keeping Mission in Kosova (1999), Additional SP Medak and Additional SP Special Intelligence Bureau.

Meanwhile Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday would be presenting the prestigious Indian Police Medal to the senior IPS officer and Inspector General of Police V C Sajjanar on the occasion of Independence Day. The 1996 batch officer was selected for the medal during the previous year Independence Day celebrations and the medal. Presently he is heading the Special Intelligence Branch and Counter Intelligence Cell of the Telangana State.
