Kadiyam SrihariWarangal: Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari appealed the Madiga community members to put pressure on the NDA government, led by Bharatiya Janata Party, seeking SC categorisation. Soon after the formation of separate Telangana State, the TRS government has passed a unanimous resolution in favour of Scheduled Castes (SC) categorisation.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has sent the resolution to the Central government seeking a favourable decision. But sadly the Centre has not responded on the issue so far. The Centre should at least now act and address the issue. Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy has also extended their support to the SC categorisation and included the issue in the party election manifesto, Srihari said.

The BJP has got full majority in Parliament and if the party really committed to the cause then it could easily resolve the issue, doing justice to Madiga community. All those concerned should start putting pressure on the Centre, he appealed.

Speaking at a meeting organised by the newly formed Telangana State MRPS in Hanamkonda on Sunday, the Deputy Chief Minister sought to know why Manda Krishana Madiga, the founder of Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi, has failed to question the BJP for its failure to categorise the SCs.

Krishna Madiga should explain to the community members what understanding he had with the BJP. The Deputy Chief Minister Srihari has reiterated that he would take the initiative of taking an all-party delegation to New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking action on the resolution passed by the Telangana Assembly.

In the past, the Congress government has deceived the community members and now the BJP was dilly dallying on the issue, he alleged. Srihari urged the community members to work united for the cause under the leadership of Yatakula Bhasker, leader of Telangana State MRPS. The movement should focus only on SC categorisation, he suggested.
