Hyderabad: Telangana Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy assured bus operators in the State of resolving all their demands on priority basis. The Minister held a meeting with senior officials at the Secretariat to review the issues concerning the bus operators in Telangana State. Reacting to the demand for Telangana government joining the Reciprocal Agreement of Southern States which waives off Border Tax for buses entering the borders of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, the Minister said a team of two senior officials would be sent to both the States to ensure that Telangana would be made a part of the agreement. Earlier, the agreement was between undivided Andhra Pradesh with Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The provisions, made for cabs and bus operators, were limited for a period of two years from June 2, 2014. The Minister said the implementation of the Act would be extended before it got lapsed in June 2016.

TSCBOA president Syed Nizamuddin, who attended the meeting, thanked the Transport Minister for holding a detailed review on the demands and hoped that the initiative being taken by the State government would provide the required relief to the entire transport industry.
