IS a blot on Islam: Owaisi
The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday said the terror outfit Islamic State (IS) was a blot on Islam and everybody needed to condemn its activities. The Lok Sbha member from Hyderabad said the outfit should not be linked with religion and the world should unite to fight it.
Hyderabad: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday said the terror outfit Islamic State (IS) was a blot on Islam and everybody needed to condemn its activities.
The Lok Sbha member from Hyderabad said the outfit should not be linked with religion and the world should unite to fight it. Stating that the terror group had so far massacred 1.5 lakh Muslims, Owaisi said Islamic scholars belonging to all schools of thought had given a fatwa against the IS.
“We all need to condemn ISIS activities and world should understand that it had nothing to do with Islam,” Owaisi said when reporters sought his reaction to a controversial statement by Uttar Pradesh Minister Azam Khan on Paris terror attacks.
The Samajwadi Party leader had earlier said that the Paris terror attacks were the result of the action of global superpowers like America and Russia and “history will decide who is a terrorist.”
