Hyderabad: Telangana TDP working president A Revanth Reddy on Monday complained to the Election Commission against the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for his alleged violation of Model Code of Conduct, and misuse of power in the bypoll bound for Warangal Parliamentary constituency, where the poll is slated for November 21.

The TDP leader, in a four-page memorandum submitted to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Bhanwarlal here, said the announcement of police recruitment, notification for TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) and considering the period of Sakala Janula Samme as earned leave for the government employees was against the code of conduct. This was also widely publicised in media owned by the ruling TRS leaders, he said.

Revanth brought to the notice of the Commission the articles published in the pro-TRS media in favour of TRS candidate. He demanded the CEO to direct Media Certification and Monitoring Committee, both at State and district level, to follow strictly the procedure laid down by the EC with regard to accounting expenditure regarding the ‘paid news‘ on media owned by political parties and their office bearers. The TDP leader also requested the official to restrain the government from deliberate violation of election code.
