Body of infant girl found in drainage

Nalgonda: In a bizarre incident, the body of an infant girl was found in drainage at Devarakonda town in the district on Monday. The incident came to light when the local people identified the body in the drainage near the TSRTC residential quarters in Devarakonda. On receiving information from the local people, the police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to the Devarakonda hospital.

The locals suspected that the parents might have thrown away the newly born baby as they were not interested in having a girl child. Injuries on the head of the new born baby indicated that the baby might have been killed by stray dogs and pigs in the locality. The Devarakonda police filed a case and took up investigation.
