GoM to leave for MP to study water supply today

Hyderabad: Telangana State Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao will lead Group of Ministers (GoM) to study the way water has been supplied through pipelines from lift irrigation projects in Madhya Pradesh. The team will leave for Indore on Friday.

According to an official press release issued here on Thursday, the GoM will leave on a two-day visit to Madhya Pradesh and inspect the fourth stage of the Omkareshwar Lift Irrigation Project and Punasa Lift Irrigation Project. The team will study how the water is being provided to the ayacut under each of these projects through pipelines, and will hold consultations with the engineers of the projects.

The GoM, on its second day of the tour, will meet Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Sivaraj Singh Chouhan. Finance Minister Etela Rajender, Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy, State Irrigation Advisor Vidya Sagar Rao, Principal Secretry, Irrigation, S K Joshi, Engineer-in-Chief Muralidhar Rao, Godavari Basin Commissioner Madhusudhan Rao, MLAs and other senior officials will acompany the GoM.
