Nizamabad: The State government would setup fire stations in all the 119 Assembly constituencies of the Telangana State, said Minister for Home and Fire Services Naini Narsimha Reddy here on Wednesday.

Inaugurating the new fire station-cum-District Fire Office building in the town, the Home Minister said that if 10 more fire stations were constructed, all the Assembly constituencies in the Telangana State would have fire stations and the State government has decided to setup fire stations in the remaining 10 constituencies.

Naini said funds would be released from this year’s annual Budget to setup new fire stations. In future, the State government would also start fire stations in all mandal headquarters and all the towns, in which the population was more than 50,000 to tackle fire accidents and provide fire safety services to the people.

Later, the Home Minister participated in the district Construction Workers Federation meeting at Munnurukapu
Sangham Bhavan at Shivajinagar in Nizamabad town and said that the Telangana State government was implementing a few schemes for the construction workers. In future, the government would kick-start several welfare schemes for the workers, the Minister added.

Naini said that the TRS government revived the Construction Workers Welfare Board and increased the ex-gratia from Rs 2 lakh to 5 lakh. The maternity grant was raised from Rs 5,000 to Rs 15,000. For cremation and funeral purposes, the amount was hiked from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000.

He said that in future, scholarships would be provided to the children of workers. They would also be given medical treatment at the ESI hospital, he said.
The Home Minister also said that the Telangana State government would extend the Kalyana Lakshmi schemes to all the categories of people who hold white ration cards.

The TRS government was spending Rs 33,000 crore on social welfare schemes, renovating 7,000 tanks and providing uninterrupted power supply, he added.
