Karimnagar: Telugu Desam Party district president Ch Vijayaramana Rao demanded the State government to book murder cases against Peddapalli MLA Dasari Manohar Reddy and his brother, Ramana Reddy for inciting Peddapalli Sub-Inspector A Jaganmohan to commit suicide.

Speaking to the media here on Saturday, the district TDP president alleged that Manohar Reddy transferred Jaganmohan to Jammikunta by using his political influence as the SI did not obey the MLA brother’s instructions in a case. Jaganmohan was replaced by Basanthnagar SI Rajkumar, who worked as a subordinate to the deceased cop.

Anticipating a bad name to the State government, district MLAs and Ministers were trying to manipulate the suicide note of the late Sub-Inspector, he alleged and demanded the police officials to make the suicide note public.

Stating that there was no place for sincere officers to discharge their duties without any political interference, Vijayaramana Rao faulted the State government for asking the aspiring police officers to get recommendation letters from the local MLAs to get a posting in a particular police station. He alleged that some of the aspirants had bribed Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to get postings in the recent DSP transfers. Vijayaramana Rao said that it was not proper on the part of the government to interfere in the affairs of the police department which has to provide security to the general public.

Condemning the demolition of Navagraha temple on the premises of the District Collectorate by the revenue department officials, he wanted the district administration to reconstruct the temple at the same place.

No mention of reasons in SI’s suicide note Peddapalli SI A Jaganmohan, who shot himself dead with his service revolver at police quarters on Friday, did not mentioned reasons to end his life in the suicide note wrote to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

Peddapalli DSP Malla Reddy released the note recovered by the police after his death, to the media at his office in Peddapalli on Saturday evening.

Except saying that nobody was responsible for his death, the deceased cop did not disclose the reason for his death in the suicide note wrote in his diary. 17.04 hours time was mentioned on the top of the first page of four pages note found in his diary.

The release of the note put an end to the day-long speculations that the SI committed suicide due to political pressures.

In the note, Jaganmohan requested the Chief Minister to take measures to waive Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) case registered against his brother Kiran Kumar, working as SI in Gudihatnur police station of Adilabad district.

Stating that there was huge pressure on SIs and SHOs, he praised the CM for providing facilities to the police. Jaganmohan asked his wife Jyothi to excuse him as he did nothing for her. Finally, he requested the officials not to conduct postmortem to his body. The final rites of Jaganmohan were held at Vidyanagar here on Saturday.
