Khammam: Communist Party of India (CPI) city secretary S K Janimiya alleged that the government was conducting resurvey for allotting double bedroom houses only to reduce the number of real beneficiaries in Khammam town.

They held a rally from the party office to Petrol Bunk Centre and burnt an effigy of the government here on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Janimiya alleged that the TRS government was cheating the public in the name of resurvey. But its real intention was to allot lands and houses to its party activists and sympathisers, keeping in view of the coming corporation elections, he criticised.

Thousands of people were identified as beneficiaries and also allotted pattas almost eight years ago.

But no government has allotted land to them till date, he added. To deduct these beneficiaries, the ruling TRS was conducting the resurvey, he pointed out.

He demanded the government to allot double bedroom houses to all those poor people, who have been living in temporary shelters near the NSP canal.

He warned the government not to deduct the number of beneficiaries by conducting resurvey otherwise the CPI would launch a massive movement and will teach a fitting lesson in the coming corporation elections.

CPI district leaders Md Salaam, M Srinivas Rao, Y Sambasiva Rao, P Mallesh, N Sashidar, Ch Suribabu, M Pullaiah, Suresh Reddy, Md Rehman, Saida, D Ramu, B Ravinder and Sarojinamma were present along with others.
