In the first phase of the programme, they decided to renovate Urakunta cheruvu (village tank) through which about 80 acres of land belonging to 208 families would get irrigation water.

Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police D Joel Davis said that proposals for Rs 40 lakh were sent to the government to take up the tank works in the second phase of Mission Kakatiya. Talking about rural educated youth, the SP opined that students were wasting their time and advised them to prepare for competitive exams.

The SP handed over a cheque for Rs 10,000 to a Maoist family and volleyball kits to local youth. About 30 women were selected to impart training in tailoring course.

On the occasion, police in association with Medicare hospitals organised a medical camp in the village and distributed medicines worth Rs 1.5 lakh to 500 people.

OSD L Subba Raidu, Godavarikhani ASP, Vishnu S Warrier, Trainee IPS Sindhu sarma, CRPF Senior Commandant Aravinda Kumar, Additional Commandant Ashokan were participated in the programme.
