Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development KT Rama Rao on Monday held a review meeting with the municipal officials in Hyderabad where announced that the LRS and BRS (Layout and Building Regularisation) Schemes in Telangana received over 1.2 lakh applications and added that the process would be completed this year.

Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development KT Rama Rao on Monday held a review meeting with the municipal officials in Hyderabad where announced that the LRS and BRS (Layout and Building Regularisation) Schemes in Telangana received over 1.2 lakh applications and added that the process would be completed this year.

KTR informed that employees will be recruited through Telangana Public Service Commission for HMDA in order to complete the process in time. The Minister announced a new scheme that would regularise the drinking water connections and added that measures would be taken to supply water to the 194 panchayats within the Outer Ring Road (ORR).

Announcing that a cycling track of international standards would be set up around the ORR in the coming days, KTR also said that the proposal of LED lamps for municipalities will be discussed in the meeting with the Minister for Power on Tuesday. KTR reviewed the HMWS&SB targets and the progress of works around the municipalities including the desilting of nalas, bus-bays, works related to BT roads and construction of markets.
